Halloween Update
A dozen new games, a front page that finds the right game for your group, presets for every table, a rebuilt quiz with twice the questions, and a new saloon in lamp light.
New at the tables:
- Quiz-Rodeo: a party quiz show with a host and a scoreboard. Collect points, race for the fastest answer, pass the dynamite and finish in a showdown.
- Maulhelden: finish a sentence or invent a fake answer, then vote for the best one or hunt for the truth.
- Rauchzeichen: one player guesses while everyone else secretly writes a one-word clue, and matching clues cancel each other out.
- Bonanza: hold your dice, roll again and fill your score sheet, in turns or alone for your best score.
- Rausschmeißer: race your pieces home and knock the others off the board. Every possible move shows its path, and a knock-out plays as a scene with sound.
- Backgammon and Mühle: two classics for two at the wooden table.
- Schach: full tournament rules, with an optional clock and premoves.
- Sudoku: three levels and four variants, alone or as a race.
- The saloon arcade: Klapperschlange, Spukstollen and Frachtgut, alone for a record or as a race with up to eight players.
New in the saloon:
- A front page that finds your game: tell the saloon how many you are and it shows the games for your table and the open tables.
- Presets for every game: pick a ready-made set of rules when you open a table, or change anything and keep your own.
- Play alone from any lobby: in games you can play alone, press "Start alone", and friends can still join for the next round.
- The saloon in lamp light: a new bar scene with light and shadow, in the colours of your design.
- Rules read out loud: before the first game at a table a voice explains Schattenspiel, Maulhelden, Rauchzeichen and Quiz-Rodeo, or everyone presses "Got it" and plays.
- Music for your games: games have their own soundtrack with its own volume control. The music takes a break now and then, with voices, spurs and the swing door playing softly in the background.
- Guests pick one of 24 drawn portraits when they join.
- Stay signed in without ticking a box, and sign out of any device from your account page.
- Your inbox: achievements, role changes, feedback replies and the outcome of your reports arrive in the profile menu.
- One guide for everything: rules and handbook share one searchable page, linked in the footer.
- Report words at the end of a game, and earn a karma point when a moderator confirms your report, up to three a day.
- Live on Twitch: a sign at the top of the front page shows how many people are streaming the saloon.
Improved:
- Wissensquiz: over 4,400 questions, and more than a thousand old ones corrected. Answers appear one by one, the first right answer starts the clock, the questions build up to a double-points final, and a table can add a 50:50 joker and a category pick.
- Hangman: guess letters in turn with no clock and share one gallows, and solve the word early for a bonus.
- Skat, Doppelkopf and Durak: switch on house rules and play a match over several rounds or to a points target.
- Schnellschuss and Durak: everyone sees the standings between the games of a match or series.
- Bonanza: the best fields for your roll stand under the dice, worked out for the whole game, and a leather cup throws the dice.
- Rauchzeichen: over 3,000 hard or foreign words left the list.
- Klapperschlange: once you are out of a race, the boards of the others run live.
- One end screen for every game: the result in one line, the ranking and the details of the game. On a desktop the final boards of Rausschmeißer and Seeschlacht use the whole window.
- Each game loads during its intro and shows who is ready, then starts when all are, after ten seconds at most.
- Turn clocks tick through their last ten seconds, only for the player they are waiting for.
- A roomier profile: it opens on an overview, account settings have their own page, and teams can call everyone into a lobby.
Fixed:
- Phones: two columns of game tiles, no settings sheet popping up after you create a lobby, and no more sideways scrolling on game pages.
- Musikquiz: answers no longer flicker when you send them.
- The front page stays as you left it when you come back from a game.
- Bonanza: the roll button stays right under the dice, and an entry asks once while you still have rolls.
